We’re currently on the lookout for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician who will report to the Manufacturing and Engineering Manager. The focus will be to support the development and implementation of world-class assembly processes to build world-class electric vehicles including our Class 8 trucks.
This is a high-focus and demanding position that will require a hands-on individual who can work with the manufacturing and production teams to evaluate, implement, develop, and maintain solutions to complex manufacturing process problems during the assembly of our FCEV & BEV trucks.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate & Develop assembly processes based on manufacturing best practices.
- Support the manufacturing process and suggest improvements.
- Support the time study evaluations & suggest ideas for improvement.
- Support process engineers with activities related to the manufacturing process.
- Provide work instructions updates based on feedback from failures and corrective actions in trucks already built.
- Work with the process and design engineer to document (JIRA) and follow up on corrective actions for process optimization.
- Help the cross-functional teams to derive actions listed on FMEA results, reliability, and DV/PV.
- Work with the engineering organization to define part exchange strategies in case of deviations to the manufacturing process.
- Support run trials and provide feedback about feasibility.
- Support, review, and update training documents and work instructions.
- Minor equipment troubleshooting as needed.
- Minor operation of equipment involved in the production process.
- Follow plant safety policies and procedures and proactively identify unsafe conditions.
Qualifications
- 3 + Years of experience Manufacturing environment.
- Physical stamina to (including but not limited to) stand, kneel, bend, push, pull, reach, grip, lift
- Exceptional understanding of safety procedures.
- Experience working with 3DX and SAP.
- Understand NIKOLA protocols - CAN/CR/DVN
- Knowledge of LEAN MANUFACTURING
- Self-motivated individual, enthusiastic to learn and improvise, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
